Four hundred and sixty one steps lead through a tunnel to Njegos's Mausolem at the peak of Mount Lovcen, near Cetinje. At the entrance to the chapel stand two marble caryatids representing the Montenegrin woman.

The Statue of Njegos in the mausoleum on Mount Lovcen stands nearly four meters tall and is carved from a single block of dark-green granite. It is the work of the acclaimed Croatian sculptor Ivan Mestrovic.

The most famous portrait of the Bishop-Prince and poet Petar II Petrovic Njegos, painted by Johan Bes. The painting, oil on canvas, is kept in the Art Gallery in Cetinje.
