Auckland, New Zealand --- City of Sails

I was undecided whether to focus on native Maori culture or on what European culture brought to New Zealand. The tour we took was a compromise, driving around Auckland with a stop at the Sky Tower and at the Auckland Museum.

* Auckland is called the City of Sails because so many people own boats. I think there were 50 on either side of us as we sailed into the harbor at 7 a.m.
The Sky Tower is the tallest building in the southern hemisphere, but only half as tall as the Queen Mary 2 is long.
* The QM2 was visible from many vantage points along our bus tour. This is a detail from the picture you see if you hover over it.
* Mary in the Maori part of the Auckland Museum.
Pou Kapua, presumably another Maori work.
