Montevideo, Uruguay

The description of Montevideo given in the QM2 Daily Programme was word for word the same as wikipedia.org. (I wonder who copied from whom.) We lost our copy of the Daily Programme that Cunard gives us every evening, so I am already unsure of exactly what we saw.

Yet another beach.
* This building caught our attention as we sailed in. Seems like it should be a church, not a telecommunications office building. However, when we got closer, we could see that it was a palm tree, not a cross, on top.
* This huge statue of oxen pulling a cart reminded us of The End of the Trail statue in the Four Corners area of the U.S.
* Zavala was the founder of Montevideo, if I remember correctly. Our tour guide was very informative, to the point of overloading my ability to assimilate.
* After the city tour, we drove out to the countryside to have dinner at the Juanico Winery. Good food, but the wine was not up to Napa Valley standards.

Onward to Cape Horn.
